David Pierce has 30+ years of experience in various aspects of international banking. He has extensive experience in structuring hedging strategies, multi-tiered transactional exposures, utilizing plain vanilla and exotic derivative products. He has specialized in assisting companies develop comprehensive foreign exchange policies to consolidate and more efficiently manage their international cash flows. David has been a regular guest lecturer on Hedge Accounting and effectively managing currency exposures at a number of universities. Additionally, David has spent many years in strategic consultation with corporate clients to develop more efficient structures for their hedging strategies, and methods of payment.
Prior to joining GPS, David was a Vice President, Senior Corporate Advisor, and Sales Manager for three regional offices for Wells Fargo Bank. In addition to working with Large Corporate and Middle Market clients across the United States, David trained other offices in more effective methods of fulfilling their client’s needs. David received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Utah State University. Dave is a recurring guest on CNBC’s Squawk Box, and he has written articles for numerous publications on foreign exchange and hedging strategies, such as Business Week, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.
David has traveled through Asia and acting as a consultant in South Korea with various business entities. His fluency in Korean and understanding of Asian cultures and business practices has helped him establish relationships with Asian banks and corporations.
